What a doll!

I am somewhat mesmerized by this photo. I came across it on the Library Of Congress website. The caption reads “Woman aircraft worker, Vega Aircraft Corporation, Burbank Calif., June 1942″

A tip of the hat to the photographer, because I believe he captured high definition well before we learned what that phrase means. The color, the lighting. Gorgeous!

Is this a model, is this staged? I have so many questions running through my mind! Why isn’t her ear pierced, what exactly is she doing, does she always wear a dress to work? Hmm.. long sleeves in June, in California.

Sporting a hair roll, no less.. and great lipstick. Which, by the way.. perfectly matches the red on the tip of whatever she is holding in her hand.
