OfflineOh how I wish I could have seen the start of television back in the 1940's! It would be great if there were a classic or nostalgia channel where the golden age of television could be viewed, and maybe even show some of the original commercials that aired back then. I have never seen or heard of this show, but I understand the first comedy was called The Goldbergs. Has anyone ever seen or recall some of the early TV shows?

OfflineOne of our neighbours was the first person in the street to get a TV so everyone was invited in to watch it. It was tiny and black and white showing only the BBC, so there were no commercials. Because the BBC had ceased transmitting during the war, it was 1946 before we had TV again and I didn't see a programme until the 50s. I can remember Muffin the Mule specifically!
