OfflineSeamed silk stockings are still available, ladies! They may garner some interesting attention, but they're still available and quite comfortable, although it seems that hosiery altogether has lost it's appeal, sadly. It seems the "bare look" is in, but most women look look best with polished, silken legs. Even in the workplace, I'm always amazed at how "relaxed, casual attire" has become the norm. Hosiery just seems so much more classy and an elegant addition to any ensemble.

Where do you find them? The ones that i find have the elastic tops, which I hate. I just want to get the kind where you can hold them up with a garter belt. If you know of a place let me know, I would be very grateful.

Even further back, when silk was difficult to get, ladies used to colour their legs with gravy browning and draw a line up the back of their legs with a black eye pencil!
FlorrieMay you are so right! I understand that when it was difficult to get silk stockings, that one Manufacturer – I think it was Max Factor, actually created a cream to be applied to the legs to make it look like you had stockings on, then you would finish up with drawing a line up the back of the legs. I always wondered how they were able to keep those seams straight!
